MISSION
Hawaii Leaders Core Mission
The mission of Hawaii Leaders Core is to increase the quality of life of Hawaii’s youth regardless of their financial status. We believe that teaching the youth how to break through limiting beliefs, set goals in line with their passions, and how to influence others internationally for the better will create a strong generation of our future leaders.
Leadership
Students involved in the Hawaii Leaders Core apply what they have learned at leadership conferences or at our meetings and events to improve relationships with their families, friends and themselves. We encourage students to breakthrough limiting beliefs and insecurities. As a result, they apply what they have learned to help improve their performance at school and use their leadership experiences in the mentoring program and trips to apply for college scholarships.
Youth Mentorship
The Hawaii Leaders Core Mentorship Program gives student the opportunity to explore and discover their dream jobs without the pressure of needing to make money to support themselves. We do this by setting them up with valuable internships with amazing companies, and by teaching them how to start their very own for-profit company. They work in collaborative community projects and become experts at what they love to do.
Monthly Meetings
The Hawaii Leaders Core provides a safe, open, and growth minded community for Hawaii’s youth where they can be themselves, discover their interests, and find support to pursue their life’s passions. Every month we host meetings for our future leaders that consist of team bonding, skill sessions, and leadership opportunities.
Contribution
As part of our belief of giving back, our students often participate in other organizations charity events. Since it’s founding, Hawaii Leaders Core has participated in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, Kaho’olawe Island Restoration Center, Out of Darkness Community Walk, Christmas Celebration at Hale Makua, and more.
College
Being apart of the Hawaii Leaders Core is a valuable asset to your college resume. Colleges look favorably on the leadership skills and the empowering philosophies that the Hawaii Leaders Core students embrace and live on a day to day basis. The Hawaii Leaders Core mentoring programs gives students structured, hands on, project based internships that colleges are looking for in a well rounded students. Here are some of our Hawaii Leaders Core Students who have been awarded merit, academic or need based partial or full ride scholarships.
